Your recipes, row by row

Edit any amount, unit or ingredient and the sheet updates. Add up to four recipes for one shopping list.

Cups and grams, only when you ask

Amounts stay in the unit you wrote. Add a density for an ingredient and its converted amount appears in a separate section, with your density printed beside it.

Your kitchen sheet

How the scaling works

  1. Read. Whole numbers, mixed numbers such as 1 1/2, fractions such as 3/4, and Unicode fractions such as ¾ or 1½ all become exact fractions.
  2. Scale. Every amount is multiplied by target servings divided by original servings, or by the batch multiplier you enter.
  3. Round last. The exact result is kept. Only the shown amount is rounded to a practical kitchen measure, with the exact value printed under it.
  4. Total. Repeated ingredients are added from exact values, one line per unit, across up to four recipes.

What stays exactly as you wrote it

  • UnitsCups stay cups and grams stay grams. Volume and mass never merge into one line, and a conversion appears only when you add a density.
  • Temperatures and times350°F for 50 minutes stays 350°F for 50 minutes. They are copied to the sheet as recipe notes, never multiplied.
  • Pan sizeThe pan-area ratio has its own number, shown beside the serving ratio. Quantities follow it only when you choose pan area for that recipe.
  • RoundingExact fractions run through every sum and total. Rounding is the last step and only changes what is shown.
  • Your listNothing you type is sent anywhere. The sheet and the CSV are made on your device.

Two quick examples

Pumpkin pie, 8 to 20 servings

20 ÷ 8 = 5/2
1 1/2 cups × 5/2 = 3 3/4 cups
3/4 cup × 5/2 = 1 7/8 cups

Both results are exact, so no rounding note appears.

9 x 13 pan to an 8 x 8 pan

9 × 13 = 117 sq in
8 × 8 = 64 sq in
64 ÷ 117 = 0.55

The pan ratio sits beside the serving ratio so you can compare them before you decide.

Frequently asked questions

Does the scaler turn cups into grams?

Only if you ask. Amounts stay in the unit you wrote. If you want a conversion, add a density for that ingredient, for example 120 g per cup of flour, and the converted amount appears in its own section next to the original.

Are oven temperatures and baking times multiplied?

No. Temperatures and times stay exactly as written. Put them in the notes box or leave them as rows with a unit such as °F or minutes and they are copied to the sheet unchanged.

What happens when I set the original servings to zero?

The scale is target servings divided by original servings, so zero has no answer. The recipe shows a short message and nothing is scaled until you enter a number above zero.

How are fractions rounded?

The exact fraction is kept all the way through, including the totals. Only the shown amount is rounded, to a measure a kitchen set can handle such as 1/8, 1/4 or 1/3 of a cup. When a shown amount is rounded, the exact value is printed under it.

How does the pan size ratio work?

Pan area is length times width, or the circle area for a round pan. The ratio of target area to original area is shown on its own. Quantities follow servings or the multiplier unless you choose pan area for that recipe.

Can I scale more than one recipe?

Yes, up to four recipes on one sheet. Each has its own scale and pans. The shopping totals add the same ingredient across recipes, and keep each unit on its own line.

Does anything I type leave my device?

No. The scaling runs in your browser and your list is not sent anywhere. Printing and CSV happen on your device too.
